PE1RAH in Japan August 2009.
William Leijenaar PE1RAH is currently in Japan demonstrating his PICOPONDER linear transponder. For those who have not seen this transponder, it is a CUBESAT scaled item operating on V/U mode and is a linear transponder generating 200mw PEP of RF output. The transponder is PLL controlled via a single-chip microcontroller. The 200mw PEP output was scaled to suit the CUBESAT environment but there is no reason why the same transponder could not be used with an outboard linear PA on a larger bird, should the opportunity arise.
William has been demonstrating his PICOPONDER in Japan on the JARL stand, and by all accounts it has been of great interest.
